10 Things Successful Women Do Everyday

10 Things Successful Women Do Everyday

Success isn't something you wish for, it's something you create! And only you can create your own success.

In 2009, I realized I wasn't living a life I was proud of. All I wanted was to be proud of myself and the life I was creating so I set out to do that.

Years later, here I am writing this and recording a podcast episode on 10 Things Successful Women Do Every Day. I went from totally unsuccessful and unhappy to the most fulfilled I've ever been in my life and for me, that is success! From Bankrupt to creating a million-dollar company that empowers women worldwide. From overweight and unhealthy to the healthiest version of myself yet. From lacking meaningful friendships to overflowing with rad connections to other women who inspire and lift me up every single day.

Success is what we define it to be and most of us, if we're really honest with ourselves, want to feel successful, happy and fulfilled in our lives.

The really awesome thing is that you can have whatever you want, you just have to decide what that is and start working towards it on. the. daily. And I mean that with emphasis! The most important tool you can carry with you everyday is consistency in the right direction.

The definition of and path to success is going to be different for everyone. It comes down to finding what works for you and showing up.

Most successful women in our world do a lot of the same things on a daily basis to achieve their goals in life. Here is a list of things you can start doing everyday to help you along your journey to becoming successful! And my biggest piece of advice as you read these is to remember that whatever it is you want in life, start small! Start with one of these habits from the list below that feels really right for you and conquer that in the next week. Then, move onto the next while carrying that first habit with you as you go along.

Here are the 10 Things Successful Women Do Everyday...

Set goals & intentions for the day

How you start each day sets the tone and pace for the rest of your day. Get into a positive mindset and write out your goals and intentions. You can write them on your mirror, in your calendar, your journal or on a note in your phone. Every night I sit down and think of the week as a whole and what I want to accomplish. Then, I break it down into daily action steps. I write down the top 3 priorities that I have to do the next day that will move the needle forward towards my goals. I then write out my intention for the next day. It's a powerful moment of checking in with yourself and only you know when that moment is best for you. Morning or end of day, you decide what works for you.
"Once I'm awake, I take a minute to breathe deeply, be grateful, and set my intention for the day." ~Arianna Huffington

Create routines & stick to a schedule

Implementing structure to your day can give you a sense of control and help with reducing stress and anxiety. I know because it happened for me. As someone who used to shoot from the hip in everything I did, I was only creating stress for myself because I never had a plan. I just did whatever felt good in the moment which left me in the demises of my emotions vs being driven by my goals. It's so important that your goals are informing your actions! Come up with a morning routine to start with and add more as you need. In regards to business, it's also important to stick to a schedule to stay on track for the day. That's a whole other conversation. Let's start with you first!
Most of my days are unpredictable and start at different times, so I try my best to keep up a stable morning routine. ~Whitney Wolfe

Delegate tasks

News Flash! You can't do it all alone, girlfriend. It is OK to ask for help. By delegating certain tasks to others, you will become free to focus on higher-value activities and use your time more productively. This is winning. This is a woman who is in control of her days. This is a girl boss running the show, trusting others to do their part and working as a team to drive the goal forward. Give yourself permission to ask for help and start trusting people. When I realized that I wanted to "do it all" because I wasn't sure others could do it like I could, I saw that I had to push my ego out of the way and really start believing in other people. It was hard to look at myself but it was what was needed for me to be able to pass the baton and let someone else take over so then I could do what I'm good at and as a team, we rise stronger and faster together.

Make lists

Sounds old-fashioned, but lists are everything! Lists make sure that your tasks are written down so you don't forget anything important. This helps you stay organized throughout the day and prioritize your time. You know when you keep it all in your head and start to feel a little (alot) wonky like you just can't handle one more thing?! This is the benefit of getting it out of your head and onto paper.

In a day, we all have so many priorities and responsibilities, and it's up to you and me to make sure we are managing those priorities and you do that by getting it on paper and then implementing one at a time. See, once you write it down, the burden comes off and all you have to do is take the action. When you keep it all in your head, it feels like 10x the weight that it does if you just write it down.

I swear by my to-do list to stay organized and to ensure that I follow through on my tasks for the day. ~Lauren Conrad

Engage in personal development

If you want to be the leader of your life or anything else, you have to be the leader of yourself first. Investing in yourself is just as important, if not more, than investing in your business, relationships, etc. When you grow personally, other areas of your life will also grow. Take time each day to read a personal development book, listen to a podcast and get out of your comfort zone! Personal growth creates a huge ripple effect of transformation in all other aspects of your life. It starts with you.
Do one thing every day that scares you. ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Set boundaries

Healthy boundaries are necessary in order for you to show up as your best self. Boundaries protect you by setting a clear line between what is beneficial for you and what is not. This goes for personal relationships and in your career. Be sure you're checking in with yourself and when something doesn't feel good or right, hold your boundary up and be clear. Commit to honoring yourself and no matter what the outcome, hold steady in that boundary. Setting boundaries is all about knowing your needs and staying true to you.
Love yourself enough to set boundaries. Your time and energy are precious. You get to choose how you use it. You teach people how to treat you by deciding what you will and won't accept. — Anne Taylor

Separate personal & work life

Speaking of boundaries, keeping your work and personal life separate should be the first one you set. This can reduce stress in your personal life and increase efficiency at work. Not to mention decrease the risk of burnout and allow relationships to flourish. Make sure you take time for the things you love, separate from your work. Make sure you take time with yourself to connect and spend time getting to know her, she needs you. The stronger your boundaries are between your personal and work life, the happier you will be.
I think it's better to have your personal life and your work life separate. That way they don't corrupt each other, so to speak. - Zoe Deschanel

Cultivate relationships

Back to what I said about not being able to do it all alone! It's important to surround yourself with people who support you and align with your goals. It's equally as important to also continue to grow those relationships in positive, healthy ways. Lift up and support those around you and be sure that the relationships you're choosing to grow are ones that grow you.

Text: Be Grateful for Everything You Have for Where You Are for How Far You've Come

Practice gratitude

Practicing gratitude is not only good for the soul, but it allows you to reflect on what you've accomplished and be really present exactly where you are. Try taking a few minutes each day to jot down 3 things you're grateful for and see how that makes you feel. Gratitude changes everything.
Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you'll never have enough. - Oprah Winfrey

Make time for yourself

Most importantly, if you aren't taking care of YOU, then how can you be successful? We tend to neglect ourselves trying to do all the things, but we need to be the BEST versions of ourselves to succeed. So take that time to relax, practice self-care, do something that makes you smile and be kind to yourself. Remember, you need you!
Tell yourself you're beautiful daily. Be gentle with yourself. Eat carbs without guilt and remember that life is too short to worry about what others think. - Demi Lovato

You know what's really empowering?! Knowing that anything is possible because it's up to you!
